I’m going to keep this post brief, but I think it’s important. I want you to take off your “business owner” hat for a minute, and instead replace it with your “servant” hat.
Have you ever thought of yourself like that? As a servant?
So often as entrepreneurs we run at ninety miles an hour. Our minds are always working and we’re always doing. Part of what makes us great at what we do is our high capacity, right? But in doing all the tasks we can often overlook… PEOPLE. The heart. The connection. The relationship. The opportunity to have a lasting impact beyond just the task.
What’s special to me about the people I work with, is they already get this. I rarely have to remind them. In fact, because I know my ideal client so well (see this post for why that’s important), I happen to know that for my clients, one thing that keeps them up at night is the fear of letting their clients down. The fear of not delivering. The fear of failing to serve their people well.
Their business is not about them. It’s about a bigger impact and lasting legacy that they want their business to have on others (so that THEIR clients can be more impactful in their own lives and that ripple effect goes on and on)…
So the simple thought for today is, don’t forget to serve. It takes intentionality to know what your clients need so that you can serve them well. The beautiful thing is this is what leads to a job well done, glowing reviews, and more clients coming your way because people are singing your praises! And yet it’s so completely authentic and allows your impact to be lasting and deep.
If you go listen to my IGTV / fb video post from a few weeks ago, this will have context and make more sense. I share a little pet peeve of mine that is a result of not feeling served by the people I’d like to do business with. Literally I want to pay them money but they’re not making it easy to establish a connection. The things that annoy us in other businesses are usually when that business fails to serve its people well.
Serving others in tangible, lasting ways is WHY we do what we do! Very few people go into business just to go into business. There has to be more, something deeper and richer… And it 100% starts with the mindset of serving.
Think about the little things in your business and how your clients and customers interact with you. What’s ONE thing you can do differently to elevate their experience and serve them well?
……….
Are you unclear on what your clients need from you so you can serve them in a meaningful way? Are you unsure of how your processes can be elevated and how they can be in better alignment with the IMPACT you want your business to have? This is all covered in my signature branding framework and I’d be honored to talk about working together.
